At Black Platinum Solar & Electric, our primary objective is to have happy, satisfied customers who can reduce their electric bills and their carbon footprint while continuing to run their home.
And while this process begins with us listening to our customers and fully understanding your site (size of roof, amount of southern exposure, location of any shadows and vegetation that might shade the roof, longitude, latitude, azimuth, etc.) it also requires us to have access to the right components.
For us, selecting the right components begins with the Enphase Energy microinverter system. But while we exclusively install Enphase systems, when it comes to solar panels, we need more options. Not all panels are the same size. Also there are different price points. And most important to us and our customers is that the modules provide good value–maximum electricity production for the price.
With so many solar panel manufacturers in the market today, it’s difficult for homeowners to know which panels are best for their PV system.
That’s where Black Platinum Solar can really help. We are constantly talking with, listening and reading about solar technology. And we have a close relationship with our very knowledgeable supplier–who, in turn, is always soliciting the first-hand experiences of contractors.
And we don’t stop there. Black Platinum Solar monitors all of its PV installations and analyzes their production data. For example, two of our systems had virtually identical systems (same microinverter technology, same south-facing roofs, same climate and azimuth, tilt, same number of panels). The only difference was that one had the medium-priced panels and the other had the higher-priced ones. In the course of one year, we found that the production of the two systems differed by only 2 Mw. While such comparisons are not scientific, we have a lot of practical information with which to work.
When designing your system, we’ll apply all this information to give you the right solution (including the right panels) to meet your electricity usage requirement, price range and objectives for your PV installation.
We currently install Upsolar, Sharp, SolarWorld, and Sanyo solar panels. And soon we’ll offer Perlight and LDK Solar panels.
At Black Platinum Solar, we continue to search out quality solar panels while making every effort to drive down costs and make owning solar an easy decision. And if buying American-made products is important to you, you’ll have strong choices among our select group of manufacturers:
- SolarWorld panels are not only Made in the USA but use American components and materials.
- Sharp panels have been manufactured in the environmentally advanced Memphis, Tennessee, plant since 2003.
